Itinerary

  1. Welcome at Suvarnabhumi, transfer to Sathorn, sunset on the Sukhothai courtyard.

  2. Grand Palace and Wat Pho in the morning, lunch by the river, Wat Arun in the late afternoon.

  3. Damnoen Saduak floating market and Maeklong railway market, evening street-food walk in Chinatown.

  4. Free day for shopping, the spa, or an optional Ayutthaya excursion (former Siamese capital, ~1h30).

  5. Morning flight to Da Nang, transfer to Hoi An (~40min), evening Ancient Town walk under the lanterns.

  6. Walking tour of the merchant houses and Japanese Bridge, optional tailor fitting, lantern-making workshop.

  7. Half-day at the My Son Hindu temple ruins, afternoon at An Bang beach.

  8. Free day. Optional Cham Islands snorkel trip or a slow morning at the riverside.

  9. Short transfer up the coast to the InterContinental Danang. Free afternoon in the resort's private cove.

  10. Morning at the Marble Mountains, the giant Lady Buddha statue at Linh Ung Pagoda, free afternoon.

  11. Mid-morning flight to Hanoi (~1h20), check in at Capella, evening at Hoan Kiem Lake and the night market.

  12. Walking tour of the 36 Streets, water-puppet show, afternoon at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology.

  13. Transfer to Halong (~2h30), board a four-star cruise, kayaking and sunset, overnight on board.

FAQs

G4 (early August) leans Bangkok-heavy with a single Da Nang base. G6 (this trip, late August) has more Hoi An time, a stop at the InterContinental Danang, and Capella Hanoi instead of the Metropole.

Bangkok: hot and wet, daily afternoon storms. Hoi An and Da Nang: hot, humid, sea is calm. Hanoi and Halong: still warm and humid, with the chance of a typhoon (we monitor and adapt).

It's a half-day with some walking on uneven stones — an early start to beat the heat. Comfortable shoes and water.
